Thanks for the MySpace comment, guys. Am throwing the podcast onto my shuffle right now and will listen as I crash out tonite. You better have some VW Bus content! ;)

I'm excited, guys.

Mike Campbell said...

Very Nice. Can't wait!!

Ralph- said...

sorry that the episode info is not very concise. i am still not awake. I need to get the titles for the track for the playlist still. i will update the info sometime today.

PalmerEldritch said...

Very entertaining. Great job, guys. Now the pressure is on Aimee and Kim to come out with a podcast as entertaining as that one.

Mike Campbell said...

Ralph thats ok add mystery to the Podcast. How was zodiac?? I am going tomorrow afternoon and can't wait

aimee is lost said...

Yeah, Drop Kick Murphys! (See, I'm not old!)

aimee is lost said...

Or wait, does that make me old because I know who they are?

aimee is lost said...

Shit.

Stephanie said...

How was Zodiac? Was Fincher able to pull it off even though there's no ending?

aimee is lost said...

Man, I hate going to the movies by myself, and all these good movies are out now.

Question: Who are the girls from "The girls next door"? Are they like, Hugh Hefner's girlfriends? I don't get it. Do they all sex him up? Isn't he like 300 years old? They just seem like a group of freeloaders, and one of them looks kinda old, and that other one laughs like a freaking hyena, not even cool like Ryan. She's annoying. Why am I watching this?

Stephanie said...

ralph-, I have a suggestion for your next script. Ninjas. I believe they will be the next big thing.

aimee is lost said...

Heck yeah, TMNT comes out in a few weeks!

Ralph- said...

Aimee, you are not old, I am. Steph, i am not a big proponent of the Ninja/Pirate popularity wave that has showed up the last couple of years. I feel that the next big thing is Lumberjacks! Mark my words.

Aimee, i am all about TMNT. i dont care if i am the only grown up in the theater, i will watch TMNT by myself if i have to. I am all about that movie and no one can stop me from seeing it!

i really like seeing movies by myself. but that only happens maybe 2 times a year. Tell the theater owener that Chile is training to be a seeing eye dog.

Benjamin said...

A seeing eye biscuit. I've never seen a whole episode of Girls Next Door, but it's my impression that they're all Playmates, and all in the personal harem of Hef.

The Dropkick Murphys show was pretty sweet, guys. More about it on the podcast, maybe.

Meanwhile, I am wicked sleepy this morning! F this going to work shit.

aimee is lost said...

I will totally see that too Ralph, I don't care how much Brian makes fun of me. Which he will, I'm sure.

Seeing eye biscuit? Hmmm. I'll try. Going to the movies alone is good once in a while when I need to feel brave.

What does Ben do for a living? I always pictured it to be something involving frightening small children. Or maybe a veterinarian. I dunno.

PalmerEldritch said...

Ben frightens small children by waving veterinarians at them.

True.

I'm not totally sold on TMNT yet. I've even seen the one where they go back to ancient Japan or whatnot. But the goofy CGI monsters worry me. Sell me on TMNT!

aimee is lost said...

Kevin Smith will be the voice of "Greasy Chef"And Sarah Michelle Gellar as April....does that sell you?

Wait what? No Shredder? Screw that!

PalmerEldritch said...

Remember SuperShredder? Oh boy. That guy was so exceedingly badass that upon creation at the end of the second movie, he immediately started destroying the dock he was under. No mere building dares shelter SuperShredder! As such, he demolished the supports and was crushed to death under the weight of the falling structure. Way to go, ShredHead.

aimee is lost said...

I need to get my hands on those DVDs. And order some pizza.

Ralph- said...

I own the original live action film, but the other 2 are no good.

The new one will kick ass, shedder or no shredder. i did hear one thing however.... i wont spoil it here but if you want DarkHorizons.com talked about the sequel, check it!

I dont even know what Ben does for a living, but i know that it involves a computer

Ralph- said...

wow, my grammer is way off. i need to focus up.

aimee is lost said...

He owns Google.

Ralph- said...

I think he invented Dice.

aimee is lost said...

He invented silent dice.

Benjamin said...

You guys are close, but way off track.

Turns out Super Shredder wasn't any brighter than Raz-ar and Knucklefuck, or whatever those other stupid mutates were. Those guys did not display T.U.R.T.L.E. Power.

aimee is lost said...

Wait, which ones are we close to? The google, scary veterinarian, or the silent dice one? Cause those are all totally different. Or completely the same, depending on how you look at it.

I remember the TMNT arcade game. I was sooo good at that game, I used to spend billions of quarters and coutless hours playing that shit.

PalmerEldritch said...

The Arcade game was awesome. I remember almost getting to the end (Shredder or Krang?) and the maintenance guy came over and reset the machine to make sure it was taking quarters correctly. I'm pretty sure that I didn't light him on fire, but I probably should have.

The best Turtle lines ever are as follows and I quote:

Donatello (as voiced by one of the Coreys):"You're claustrophobic!"

Casey Jones: "You want a fist in the mouth?! I've never even looked at another guy!"

aimee is lost said...

I eventually moved on to Street Fighter II. I could make Chun-Li helicopter kick like it was nobodys business.

Benjamin said...

I think my favorite line in TMNT is, "A little too Raph."

PalmerEldritch said...

Is Baxter Stockman in the new movie?

Jimmy said...

I was sheep shearing when TMNT came out. Mmmm...the dark years!

Ralph- said...

Dude, it's Rocksteady and Beebop!

I dont know how much of the cartoon makes it into the movie, i think that it is much more along the lines of the comic book. i could be wrong.

Raphael is my favorite Turtle!

PalmerEldritch said...

Anyone read any of the Comics where Raph was all black ala Spidey in the Secret Wars? What was up with that?

Benjamin said...

Palmer, that sounds wicked familiar, actually. But not enough for me to know what was going on at the time.

PalmerEldritch said...

Pretty sure it was the TMNT stuff from Archie Comics. Not the original Eastman/Laird stuff.

T said...

Dudes, how did I miss the fact that the Dharmalars name comes from a box of cookies?! WTF, mate...that's too cool.

BTW, I'll be rockin' a Dharmalars button very soon!

Benjamin said...

Yeah, we should get a screencap of those cookies and put that on the Myspace page. Good on ya for the button, Taylor.

Ralph- said...

Taylor, check out our myspace pics. we have a screen capture of Rose offering Hurley a box of Dharmalars

casey_donahue said...

my fav nija turles character is casey jones, for obvious reasons

and I can't believe that one of the other mutants was named after one of the original breakdancing crews from NYC, the rock steady crew

thats awesome

PalmerEldritch said...

Ben,

After arduous research, I can reveal the reason why Raph wore a black costume for part of the Archie Comics run: he liked it.

Yeah... They went to some asteroid to become professional wrestlers and that was his wrestling costume. But he liked wearing it so he kept it around for a bit after they returned to NYC.

So... anticlimactic, but there you go. :\

Benjamin said...

Well, it's not as cool as a secondary mutation or something, but at least we know we weren't crazy.

PalmerEldritch said...

I was kind of hoping that it was a symbiote that can only be driven out by **SPOILER FROM TWENTY YEARS AGO DELETED**.

/make mine marvel

Benjamin said...

'nuff said.

PalmerEldritch said...

46th Comment.

Is that tying the record for a Dharmalars blogspot posting? Let's go for broke, True Believers.

/excelsior!

Ralph- said...

47 y'all!

PalmerEldritch said...

48. What's Jimmy doing bringing up naked chicks over at Scott and Steve? I thought Dharmalars was the stop for your boobie discussion needs.

Here's my contribution. #49
My memeories of the original TMNT are being forced to see it for my little brother's birthday.

PalmerEldritch said...

You owe that little brother a great debt. Those turtles were all kinds of entertaining.

PalmerEldritch said...

Does Jimmy call them Terrapins?

Benjamin said...

TMNT was odd for me, because I read some of the Eastman-Laird comics, and had some of the toys, but then it became this thing of my brothers' era and not mine. There's a lot of crossover stuff where it may not have been age appropriate for me, but having two younger brothers in charge of the TV kept me watching.

Like, I consider DuckTales to be mine, but Rescue Rangers to be my bros'.

PalmerEldritch said...

I'd love to be able to read some of the old Eastman/Laird stuff but my searches on Amazon only lead to out of print stuff. Bastards.

Duck Tales (wooo-ooooh!) is far superior to TaleSpin. It's a cold hard fact.

aimee is lost said...

So, since we're getting all these great 80s remakes like the Transformers and TMNT, can we expect more? I would like a new He-Man and She-Ra, and even a new Voltron, because the 90s-ripoff (aka the Power Rangers) sucked.

Jimmy said...

Ben,

Are you referring to "Lassie and the Rescue Rangers", because that is my age group!

Teenage Mutant Ninja Terrapins sounds fucking cool!!!!

I couldn't resist throwing a bit of Sung Hi Lee nudity out there...it's been that kind of day :)

PalmerEldritch said...

My English English teacher in High School (forget where in England he was from but a Wolverhampton fan so presumably from around thereabouts) told us oh so many years ago that "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" was too violent for English censors so they were renamed "Teenage Mutant Hero Turtles" instead. Boo, England. Boo.

Stephanie said...

Remember back several weeks ago when we were discussing whether or not we thought Foxy was leaving Lost? I read he was meeting with the Weinstein's about a role. So, I looked up their imdb to see if it was the Rambo movie. They are remaking Knight Rider. If Matthew Fox plays Michael Knight... No. It has to be some other role.

Jimmy said...

I do believe that's true about "Hero" turtles.

Speaking of Hero's, I've decided to jump in. Might take a while to catch up...I've pretty much given up on this years "24", which is a shame.

PalmerEldritch said...

Yeah, '24' has been lackluster. But it's still '24' so I'm still watching. It's a lot better than it was in the beginning of the season. The episodes with Kumar (Kal Penn) were pretty awful all around.

But I DVR 'Heroes' and watch it directly afterwards (skipping through the commercials). 'Heroes' is good stuff. I highly recommend it.

aimee is lost said...

Jimmy, welcome aboard the Heroes train..choo choo!

Mike Campbell said...

jimmy i might be with you. Jack has started world war 3 with the russians. there is no way to stop that. It might be a little too much. I will keep watching it but i am worried it thinks it has to be uber crazy or it won't be good. But it can calm down a little bit

PalmerEldritch said...

Jack Bauer always does something completely redonkfuckingdiculous at least once a season.

Remember when he robbed a convenience store? Ugh...

At least Kim's not around to be menaced by cougars. Wait. On a visual level, I do miss Kim Bauer.

Benjamin said...

I definitely miss her running in a wife beater. Sigh.

PalmerEldritch said...

How fantastically intelligent was Miss Bauer when she decided to take a shower and then wear a wet wifebeater around the cabin of a crazy yokel who saved her from a cougar?

Yeah. God bless those writers.

Benjamin said...

I think my favorite bit of her (non-sexually) was when she showed up at CTU immediately after it had been blown up and was insistent that she be allowed in right away to see Jack.

Security Dude: I'm sorry, ma'am, but there's a bit of a security issue here.

Kim Bauer: WELL, I need to see Jack Bauer.

It really made me laugh.

Hey, Ralph, you should do a PhotoShop of Jack Bowser, enemy of Marios and terrorists alike.

Colleen said...

Something that you said on the "Tricia Tanaka" podcast made me realize that the Alcatrez Island story is similar to a present day SNL sketch: You're excited cause there's cool players, there's some great moments that look like there's potential and then by the end, they have no idea how to actually end it so it just ends lamely...

Rex H said...

You guys have some cool friends. People just showing up and throwing cool shit in your laps.
