This week we get into 3x09 a Jack-Centric episode that involves Tattoos. We hear about that new theme that popped up at the end of the episode from Jimmy and get some great listener responses concerning some of our UK questions. We would also like to thank all of you for putting us in the top 100 in iTunes TV and Film category!

LOL! The Family Guy character is Tricia Takanawa...very close.

And the VW Bus is the shit! :D I am majorly into old VW buses and just about fell outta my chair when I saw it.

As for finding buses, you guys live in the heart of West Coast VW Land. Check out www.thesamba.com/vw and search the classifieds. I'm sure you can find a blue/white bay window that you can slap some Dharmalars logos on!

Keep up the freakin' awesome work!!

Nice thing is that you don't have to smog cars built before 1973!

Okay, I'll stop with this...but how effin cool would it be if the Bus stuck around for the rest of the season. Hopefully it won't go off a cliff like Dave did. :P

Ben is so gonna buy one!

Taylor, Cheers for the support. It's appreciated by all. I was actually keen to check out the bus that's local for me...

I tried downloading your podcast on itunes but I got an error (the feed "could not be found on the server") and when I try to listen to it through your blog it redirects me to the switchpod.com home page...

PalmerEldritch said...

Caresse,

I've already downloaded and listened to the Dharmalars' latest but I just checked out the link to see if you were right about it not working... I too was re-directed to the SwitchPod main page where I learned that there's an official Hillary Duff music video podcast. Ack.

Although, now that she's over eighteen, maybe it's a podcast you watch with Mute on?

The Dharmalars said...

I am sure that there is a hicup in switchpod's servers, keep on trying, it should be up for you guys.

sorry for the inconvienence.

PalmerEldritch said...

Seems to be working now.

Good podcast, Ralph. I'm looking forward to you guys talking about the aftermath of Hurley finding the Official DHARMA Shaggin' Wagon. Astroturf in the back?

casey_donahue said...

im holding out for locke in the hot air balloon guns a blazin'

if there is a VW bus on the island, i dont think the balloon idea is any more crazy sounding

T said...

Buy one, Ben, buy one!! LOL I know enough Bus people down south that we can get you set up if it's not running or something.

Who else really hopes there's commentary on this episode when the Season 3 box set comes out!?

PalmerEldritch said...

Casey,

We'll combine the two ideas for the most badass Island vehicle possible. They'll be tooling around the Island at top speed in the VW when they suddenly find they're about to go off the side of a cliff. Hurley frantically pushes a button and the top of the VW opens up. The hot-air balloon spills out and fills up, saving the day. Our Lostaways have created a fully functional VW dirigible.

And then Locke shoots people with machine guns. And throws a knife into someone's eye socket.

casey_donahue said...

that would, by far, be the single greatest episode of anything ever.

Benjamin said...

Palmer, if they pulled that shit the next podcast would be an hour of me and Ralph alternately laughing, and being too shocked to speak. It would indeed be the best thing ever to happen to the history of eyes.

So, a caller suggested Dharmalars man-thongs. Anyone second that emotion?

Tim - I promise I'll lay off the accents for a while, dude.

Dudes, VW buses are not as cheap as I would like. I checked the one in Sand Dog, and it's like ten thousand bucks! I guess I'll just have to be content with not owning a bus....for now.

Benjamin said...

Oh, and the next official Lost podcast would be a straight hour of D & C giving each other high fives.

PalmerEldritch said...

We've got to find someone who can do Flash animation and have them do up the VW-dirigible for a Dharmalars vidcast.

At the very least, you could create your own Dharmalars VW-dirigible and ride it to Comic-Con.

Ben, stop by the scottandsteve blogspot. It beats actually doing work during the day.

Jimmy said...

Can I just say "Am I the only one not looking forward to this episode"?

I don't know...I have a bad feeling it will be stuffed with comic relief, as well as implausibility.

I'm all for a fun VW Bus episode, but I just feel like we are all going to be universally bitching tomorrow night. I fucking hope not!!!!

PalmerEldritch said...

Well, there's really no way to live up to the hype from the last Dharmalars podcast and this here thread. That's for sure.

But Hurley episodes are usually pretty good. If it sucks, it's pretty much your fault for jinxing it. Way to go.

On another note, I've one episode of Extras left to go. And Ben's right, the MacCutcheon's insult is the only insult better than Bowie's 'Fat Man' song.

T said...

Ben, keep your eyes on the local Craigslist...cheap buses are out there!

Mike Campbell said...

I hope the clutch is broken on the bus and everyone has to run and jump into it. Lost needs to get off the Little Miss Sunshine train :)

The Dharmalars said...

I could use some comic relief, but I do need some real action too, and soon. And if I had a way of drawing the VW Zeppelin, it would be drawn and posted by now. Unfortunately my artistic talent is very limited.

Jimmy said...

I guess I should clarify a bit more...

I would hate to see a "Hurly finds an old VW and hilarity ensues" episode.

I'd like ro see a "Hurley finds and old VW, and as a result stumbles on an amzing discovery" episode.

I don't want to see another 'SOS' right now, that's all.
Peace.

casey_donahue said...

jimmy, I agree, but I have a very good feeling about this episode

Benjamin said...

Yeah, it needs to have some punch. There hasn't been enough action for my tastes in the new pod.

PalmerEldritch said...

Some donkey punch? :\

Jimmy said...

What's Donkey Punch? Is it like a "Rabbit Punch" (side blow to the kidneys)?

Jimmy said...

I meant back of neck...I forget which animal punches your kidneys!

Fuck...

The Dharmalars said...

Remind me to stay away from Seattle until they get the whole "Wild animals mercilessly punching you" situation squared away ; )

A "Donkey Punch" is a (hopefully fictional) sex manuever.

PalmerEldritch said...

DNKPNCH is also Ben's custom license plate once he gets the Dharmalars VW-dirigible.

Jimmy said...

Well after looking up Donkey Punch, I feel I'm missing out!

The Dharmalars said...

Hey, you're still coming down to visit, right Jimmy? We'll fix you up.

Oh and Palmer, it's DNKPNCHJR.

T said...

WOOHOO! Awesome freakin' episode of LOST! Man, it's been a while since that show's been able to make me grin like that! :D Total breath of fresh air plus a bit of mystery leading into next week.

Poor Roger...drunk on the way home from the Dharma beer run, listening to some Three Dog Night, slides into a corner and puts the bus on its side!

But why did no one question why Vincent was there?

PalmerEldritch said...

Paolo is a dink. I say we form the Nikki Liberation Front. If it weren't for Paolo, Hurley'd've had a VW bus, Dharma beer, a sweet 8track, and a girl to hang out with. But nooooo... Paolo had to grab her belt loop. Bastard!

T said...

Baggy pair of shorts that is, too! ;)

PalmerEldritch said...

A Coppertone Baby moment there would have helped up the ratings.

PalmerEldritch said...

Among other things.

The Dharmalars said...

Yeah, that's for sure. A Coppertone moment there and Hurley could have flipped the bus without those branches.

PalmerEldritch said...

From the beach even!

Jimmy said...

Shit! Your American pop culture references have gone over my head. Coppertone moment. Nothing to do with Donky Punching, I suppose!

PalmerEldritch said...

http://images.google.com/images?q=coppertone

Donkey punching that is a definite no-no.

casey_donahue said...

wow, I dont think i have seen that many innuendo filled comments in a row ever, well done guys.

Jimmy said...

Agreed, Palmer!

Benjamin said...

Bart: Why would anybody want to touch a girl's butt? That's where cooties come from!

Lisa: Dad, I don't understand. What is she saying you did?

Homer: Well, Lisa, remember that postcard Grampa sent us from Florida of that alligator biting that woman's bottom?

Bart: Oh, yeah, that was brilliant!

Homer: That's right, we all thought it was hilarious. But it turns out we were wrong: that alligator was sexually harassing that woman.

Bart: And the dog in the Coppertone ad? Same deal, Dad?

Homer: Well, there's kind of a grey area.
